Dragon Dictate 2 - real world example with microsoft word

 so this is the new blog post which I'm not typing anymore in fact I'm reading into a mic rather speaking into a mic and getting the audio processed via a software called Dragon dictate.

This is pretty good as it allows me to just focus on ramming my thoughts rather than worrying about what I should be typing.

Typing onto HTML page is slightly lagging compared to typing into a Word document or a notepad. Sorry I didn't mean typing I meant dictating!

I have embedded below the video which I just published onto YouTube which shows you how well Dragon Dictate works. In fact post developing that video the accuracy has increased fundamentally to an all new level.

I hope there are many users out there who can share with me their real-world examples on how they have been using DragonDictate. It's quite fascinating to speak and get your content accurately recorded onto a document rather than focusing on keystrokes.

Another Day Another Dollar

Monday was brilliant day at work. I was fresh after a much rested weekend and I amde some significant progress with my deliverables. Things are beginning to fall into place nicely at work, atleast thats what I felt for the first time today. Last Friday, I was in a tital mess, I was quite stressed out with where I was workwise and felt that things were slipping away under my feet.

I took a look at the project plan again today. There is so very much which needs to be done. I am sure I will kepp plugging away at the items one by one and will manage to make some significant inroads in a couple of weeks.

For now I am working on the glamour part, which one of my colleagues descibed the master document as. This is what the bosses will review and after sign-off its no more sunshine.... just target dates.

4 more days till the weekend,
9 more days till my birthday,
13 more days till christmas,
17 more days till I go to away for New Years,
19 more days till New Years eve,
.... december is flying....

Progress Report

Its just been two weeks since I have joined my new employer. Its been a fun ride so far. My new role has a lot of expectations built in from both me and my bosses.  I am excited about the potentials at this new place. Hopefully it will all work out well.

Yesterday the local courts in Singapore charged two indivduals for racist remarks which were made on blogs. Here is the link to the prosectution article which came out in September 2005.

I think this move by the authorities sends a clear message that there will be no tolerance of negative attitudes towards any community. Now thats brilliant ain't it? If society doesnt have the brains to get their act together, then the govt will ensure that something gets done about it. For all you expats and desi's out there you better watch what you say in the pub.

New Job New Thrills

I am finally at the new place. Yes, I left my previous employer last Friday and joined this new establishment on Tuesday. How have things been so far? Well its been quite good. I admit I was a bit worried about how things would pan out on the first day of work. For a start I don't have anyone breathing down me....not that I had this problem before, but its nice to have a certain degree of independance in the work place.

Sunday Workday

Its 7.15a.m , just finished  my shower and ready to head into work. Yes, I have to head into work to get some infrastructure issues sorted out this morning. My internal transfer papers have been lodged with the new department, my current bosses aren't too thrilled about this either. Anyway, look's like someone else is also interested on obtaining my service....yippee...massive ego boost!

I just got a whole bunch of credit card bills yesterday.... damn now I've goota start eating two minute noodles once again. Sis left for Australia yesterday, she was just here for two days catching up with us. It was good to see her. We did the usual family ritual of eating some excellent food - pepper crabs, praws, fish etc at the Long Beach restaurant at east coast.

Wicked Week

The past week has gone by really quickly, these days are passing by so quickly. Hours into days, days into weeks, weeks into months. A lot has happened on the work front. I had another interview for a different role within the same firm - I had to politely decline the offer.

Right after the IOC hosting, Singapore's biggest and most prosperous charity the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) has seen RED. The press has unfolded a series of scandalous expenditures by the executive board. Theres lots of information on this topic on the internet, so I shant bother you all with my thoughts on this matter.

I was out on Thursday and Friday night. Caught up with some friend's I had not seen for a while. It was good. Friday night was a real late night affair. Only got back home at like 5.a.m! Spent Saturday chilling at home, and Sunday seems to be heading the same manner.

I am now on Chapter 5 of the book Influence without Authority. The content is indeed well written, I like the analytical models on evaluating what the various "currencies" of barter are. You can still get the book at MPH at S$57.70.

My Hipster PDA is working well as well. The feedback mechanism which your mind registers while physically writting something down on hard paper seems to be the trick point, which I really seems to reinforce the task into your mental subconscious. This is something,  I notice that a electronic PDA really doesnt do.

Getting Out

Thats it! Time to move on to a new department. I think the motions been set, spoke to a couple of seniors at work and it seems that I might be transferring out real soon to an operational unit.

Am I excited? You bet! Most likely this is going to happen in an overseas branch so I should be able to get some reasonable expat terms to help me through. I hear it could be somewhere in Southeast Asia, where the cost of living should be reasonably quite low.

I imagine with a month of hand holding some new staff, I should be going out by August at the latest. Yes sir! shoosh... keep this to yourselves fellas!
